The National Marine Manufacturers Association is partnering with BK Productions to produce the 2011 New Orleans Boat & Sportshow.
The relationship will allow the NMMA to combine its history and experience with BK’s first-hand knowledge of the market to further the New Orleans show as the Gulf Coast’s premier boating and outdoors event, the NMMA said in a statement.
“With more than 80 years of combined event promotion and management, including a portfolio of other boat and outdoors shows in the region, BK Productions has the knowledge needed to assist NMMA in bringing a renewed excitement to the New Orleans Boat & Sportshow,” said Cathy Rick-Joule, vice president of NMMA boat shows.
The 41st annual show will take place Jan. 27-30 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. The NMMA has also secured this timing for 2012 – Jan. 26-29.
This year’s show, which had been set for January, was cancelled in order to address dealer demands.
“There just wasn’t enough critical mass to warrant an acceptable 2010 show for our exhibitors,” said Rick-Joule when the cancellation was announced. “We want to continue to be the Gulf Coast’s largest and best boat show and look forward to a new day for our industry and a sustainable and strong 2011 event.”
