Tohatsu/Nissan named ‘Best Buy'

Consumers Digest magazine named Tohatsu/Nissan Marine a Best Buy in the 50- to 74-horsepower range for its 50 and 70 TLDI outboard motors.

The rating is based on design, efficiency, performance and price.

According to the magazine, Tohatsu is the only manufacturer offering direct-injected, 2-stroke engines priced below the average price point of $6,000. The magazine called it “ideal for small boats.”

Tohatsu America Corp. is the distributor of Tohatsu and Nissan Marine outboard motors in the U.S. and Canada. The company is owned and managed by Japan-based Tohatsu Corp.
