Yacht groups team up for brokerage sessions

YachtWorld.com, a leading marine Web-based resource for the yacht brokerage industry and the Yacht Brokers Association of America, a leading professional yacht broker association, announced their co-sponsorship of two Yacht Brokerage University sessions for their mutual yacht broker members.
The first will be held Aug. 5 at the Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel in Warwick, R.I, and the second is scheduled for Aug. 7 at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis, Md.
“In this period of economic strain, it is even more important for yacht brokers to maximize their marketing advantage and stay connected with our industry,” Jessica Muffett, publisher emeritus of YachtWorld.com and YBAA executive director Joseph Thompson, said in a joint statement.
Attendees who already hold the Certified Professional Yacht Broker designation will receive eight recertification credits by participating in the full-day event. The Yacht Brokerage University sessions are modeled on YBAA’s annual regional conference programs and the YachtWorld University events that have taken place during the last three years.
Those have been attended by more than 2,800 brokers and staff.
Both sessions will include updates on products and services supplied by YachtWorld.com and YBAA as well as specific topics such as “Building Better Listings” and “Boat Wizard Tips & Tricks.”
Regional topics will include updates by the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association, the Maryland Marine Trades Association, Maryland’s Broker Licensing program, Laws and Regulations seminars and presentations by the American Arbitration Association, the American Boat and Yacht Council and Maryland Retailers Association.
