AMI to award best National Marina Day events

The Association of Marina Industries asks all marinas that took part in National Marina Day celebrations Aug. 9 to fill out a report form, which can be found on the group’s Web site in the NMD Resource Kit.

AMI will compile the activities that occurred into a final report to be shared. Completed report forms should be faxed to (401) 247-0074 by Sept. 30.

AMI will recognize and award three marinas with the 2008 National Marina Day Award. These awards will honor outstanding events in the following categories: Best Overall Event, Best Media Coverage, and Best Local Political Advocacy.

The awards will be presented Jan.25-28 at the 2009 International Marina & Boatyard Conference in Fort Lauderdale.
