Navico, the Tulsa, Okla.-based electronics manufacturer, has promoted Louis Chemi to executive vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas.
In addition to his continuing responsibilities as executive vice president of product management, Chemi will manage the sales and marketing efforts for the Navico brands with a focus on expanding the company’s presence and positioning.
“His extensive background in marketing to the recreational and commercial boating industry, coupled with his unparalleled understanding of what is required to bring high-quality products to the marine market, make him an excellent choice for this important position,” said Jens-Thomas Pietralla, Navico president and CEO, in a statement.
Prior to joining Navico in May 2007, Chemi spent seven years as global product manager with Raymarine. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science degree in applied marine physics from the University of Miami.
An avid fisherman and boater, Chemi holds a 100-ton Coast Guard master’s license.
