Oklahoma show starts Friday

It's outdoors season in Oklahoma, but it's clearance season for many of the area's RV and boat dealers.

Area boat and recreational vehicle dealers will be pushing this year's models at this week's Green Country RV and Boat Show at the QuikTrip Center at Expo Square, according to the Tulsa World.

The event starts Friday and usually marks the end of the major selling season for area outdoor vehicle sellers. The show runs through Sunday.

"It's usually a pretty good deal for the consumer at this point," show organizer Phil Keeter told the Tulsa World. "Dealers are trying to sell as much of their merchandise as they can. They don't really want a lot of boats and RVs sitting around all winter."

The pleasure vehicle industry is making a comeback after the economic downturn. The season-opening event in January attracted more than 40,000 visitors, and Keeter told the newspaper that many dealers were making multiple sales a day.
