NMMA details events at political conventions

The NMMA is reminding the industry that it's hosting on-land and water events at the Democratic and Republican national conventions.

“Our hope is to educate delegates, members and attendees about the importance of U.S. manufacturing, how it is impacting our economy and encouraging them to learn more about the $72 billion domestic economic impact that boat, engine and accessory manufacturers are producing,” NMMA public/government relations manager Lauren S. Dunn told Soundings Trade Only in an email.

“We will have displays and information on safety, new technology and the economy, as well as boats on-site for short boat rides and demos,” Dunn added. “NMMA is a bipartisan organization, so it is important to us to represent the industry at both conventions.”

The first event will be at the GOP convention, and it will be held from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Hula Bay Club in Tampa, Fla. The club is at 5210 West Tyson Ave.

The Democratic convention event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Peninsula Yacht Club Lake Norman, North Carolina, 18501 Harbor Light Blvd., Cornelius, N.C., featuring exhibits highlighting technological, environmental and safety advancements, economic impact on the U.S. economy and boat demonstrations along the waters of Lake Norman.
