Hartford Boat Show opens today

The annual CMTA Hartford Boat Show returns today to Connecticut's state capital.

Now in its 44th year, the show opens at 4 p.m. at the Connecticut Convention Center and runs through the weekend.

Dozens of local and regional marine trades, services, manufacturers and dealers will be represented at the show, which drew about 12,500 people last year — up 10 percent from 2011.

About 50 dealers and 200 boats will be at the show, and nearly a dozen free seminars will be presented on subjects ranging from boat maintenance and repair to electronics and navigation.

Show hours are 4-9 p.m. today, noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
