IYRS schedules open house

Individuals interested in pursuing new career tracks at the International Yacht Restoration School will have a chance to step inside the school’s workshops during an open house next week at the Bristol campus.

The event, which takes place Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., will give career seekers an opportunity to meet with IYRS staff, observe students at work and review IYRS programs.

The Bristol facility is home to the school’s marine systems and composites technology programs. The composites technology program trains students in the theory and hands-on practice of working with composite materials, a method of construction that represents the next generation of building materials in many industries, including aerospace, construction, boatbuilding, automotive and wind energy.

The marine systems program teaches students to install, maintain and troubleshoot the onboard systems used on modern and classic boats.
