Park Service, Coast Guard team up for safety

The National Park Service and the Coast Guard have formed an agreement to increase safety patrols on Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. The agreement brings together the resources of both agencies, including trained boat operators from the Coast Guard Auxiliary and boats from the Park Service.

Century Boat Co. is shutting down its boatbuilding plant in Panama City, Fla., for two months because of the slow economy. The November-December closure will include the temporary layoffs of 103 employees.
