Pepco, Bass team up for energy savings

Pepco and Bass Products will unveil a new “cogeneration” plant Tuesday in Bristol, Conn. It will power, heat and air-condition two manufacturing plants and put surplus power back into the grid, according to the companies.

Alfa Tec buys Louisiana distributor

Alfa Tec, a Seattle-based marine sales and service distributor, recently acquired FM Equipment, a Houma, La.-based distributor for Alfa Laval Marine, Oil and Power in the Gulf Coast region.

Ranger layoffs expected to be temporary

Ranger Boats in Flippin, Ark. laid off 130 employees and extended its normal two-week plant closing to four weeks in December because of a drop in orders from dealers, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports.

Coast Distribution reports 3Q dip

Coast Distribution Systems reported a net loss of $290,000, or 7 cents per diluted share, on net sales of $34.7 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30.
