The American Boat and Yacht Council is holding its seventh annual Standards Week Jan. 11-15 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Events such as Project Technical Committee meetings, ABYC standards certification class and the ABYC annual meeting and cocktail reception are part of the week and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
Committees will meet to discuss standards that are under review. This year, the meeting topics include electrical, hull performance, electrical components, gas detectors, navigation lights, fuel and ventilation and product interface. Participation is open to all interested parties.
“There is no better technical resource than attending ABYC Standards Week,” Rec Boat Holdings product compliance manager Craig Scholten said in a statement. “Our attendance gives us a detailed working knowledge of the standards, allows us to help shape the outcomes and enables our products to be ahead of the compliance change curve.
