IMPACT INSTITUTE PHOTOMercury Racing is offering three scholarship programs for students pursuing careers in the skilled trades and marine services.
Mercury Racing said in a statement that the $5,000 Excellence in Trade scholarship is open to high-school students based near the company’s Fond du Lac, Wis., headquarters who plan to further their education in a skilled trade.
The Impact Institute Education scholarship provides two $1,500 awards to students attending the Marine Service Technology program at the Impact Institute in Kendalville, Ind. Those who complete the two-year program earn their Marine Industry Certification and are eligible to earn entry-level service certification from Mercury.
Mercury Racing this year partnered with the Great Lakes Boat Building School in Cedarville, Mich., to create the Marine Service Technical Scholarship, which awards $1,500 to two students in the school’s Marine Service Technology program. After completing the program, students will have logged 1,470 hours of instruction and are eligible for American Boat & Yacht Council certifications.
