Poland accounts for more than half of total European Union boat exports in unit numbers, according to local media referencing a report from the Polish Economic Institute. More than 60 percent of recreational vessels exported from the European Union were built in Poland. Between 2014 and 2018, according to the study, export value of Polish-built boats increased from $208 million (184 million euros) to $446 million (395 million euros).
Poland produces more than 22,000 units annually. In addition to Polish powerboat builders, such as Galeon and Sunreef, Groupe Beneteau has multiple factories in Poland, and U.S. builder Brunswick Corp. manufactures several Bayliner and Sea Ray models in that country.
The story reported that its main export markets include the United States, Germany, France, Norway and the Middle East. About 95 of the annual production of new boats are exported outside Poland.
