Melissa McLaney, owner of boat dealer H2O Sports in Dothan, Ala., is featured on the new TLC reality show “Bama Belles,” which premiered Dec. 5.

The show focuses on the lives of five women, their families, careers and relationships in the South. McLaney’s life involves her husband, Frankie, and their son, Grayton, along with Malibu and Axis wakeboard boats.

Because the dealership is such a large part of Melissa’s life, boating and water sports are well represented in the show. H20 Sports sells Malibu, Nautique, Supra, Moomba, Rinker, Axis, Bryant and Sweetwater Pontoons, according to the dealership website.

“There are so many kids that could benefit from participating in water sports. It provides them a positive outlet to express themselves. It is also such a great family activity,” McLaney said in a statement.

After purchasing their first Malibu boat, the McLaneys were hooked on the lifestyle. They became involved in wakeboarding, helping out at local boat shows and events. They became close with people in the industry and eventually opened their dealership.

“This is not a show about stereotypes. It’s a show about how we live. I hunt. I wakeboard. I have a master’s in science. I own a business. We’re not ignorant. We have fun,” McLaney said.
