Dometic has added Bend, Ore.-based outfit Zamp Solar, bolstering its mobile power solutions product line for both the RV and marine segments.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2010, Zamp reported net sales of about $14 million in 2020. Its products — portable and fixed solar panels, charge controllers, power boxes and solar kits —have gained recognition for the recycled contents.
Zamp is also known for customization with leading RV companies such as Airstream, Keystone and Winnebago and other manufacturers. For example, its Obsidian Series charging kits are customized to work with Dometic’s PLB40 portable lithium battery pack.

“Zamp Solar complements our earlier acquisitions in mobile power solutions and brings unique in-house design and manufacturing expertise,” said president and CEO Juan Vargues in a statement. “In addition to positioning Dometic at the forefront of vehicle electrification trends, mobile power solutions also address the critical need for people using powered products when experiencing the outdoor lifestyle.”
The acquisition marks the company’s fifth in 2021, a strategy Vargues said will continue as Dometic grows its mobile living offerings.
“Our strategy for profitable expansion in mobile living is built on a combination of organic and acquisitive growth [and] our pipeline of potential future acquisitions remains strong.” Vargues said.
