Parker Boats employees volunteered with BackPack Friends to fill food bags for children living near their offices in Beaufort, N.C., the company announced. The Parker team also collectively sponsored a child through the organization.

BackPack Friends provides nutritional, mental and well-being assistance to children who receive reduced-priced meals at North Carolina schools.

Each week, the organization delivers more than 500 backpacks of food to children during weekends and holiday breaks in 14 schools in four North Carolina counties. The nonprofit relies on volunteers to pack donated food supplies.

“We have a great team that has a passion for making our community better,” said Scott Bauer, president of Parker Boats, a subsidiary of Correct Craft. “It was a great day working together to help kids in our local schools get the support they deserve.”
