Engine manufacturer Ilmor and HavocAI, a developer of collaborative autonomous maritime systems, yesterday announced an exclusive partnership to integrate advanced electric propulsion technology with HavocAI’s autonomous vessel platforms. The partnership combines Ilmor’s electric propulsion expertise with HavocAI’s autonomous technology, creating an integrated solution for national security applications.
The companies have partnered on developing ION Unleashed, an enhanced version of Ilmor’s consumer ION 6 electric outboard, engineered for autonomous maritime operations.
“This partnership is more than a technical collaboration; it’s a shared commitment to redefining what’s possible in autonomous marine defense,” Ilmor vice president Mike Lindberg said in a statement. “The ION Unleashed is proof of what happens when two companies with aligned values and an innovative spirit come together to push electric propulsion into new territory.”
The electric propulsion systems can be installed across HavocAI’s range of autonomous vessels, with boats already operational and conducting trials, the statement said.
