Groupe Beneteau Americas and Rec Boat Holdings yesterday sent a notice to suppliers regarding the suspension of production and distribution of the Four Winns, Scarab and Wellcraft Fisherman brands, and ceasing manufacturing operations at its Cadillac, Mich., facility in the third quarter.
Another release from Groupe Beneteau said it was ceasing production of Four Winns, Scarab Jet and Glastron. Groupe Beneteau/Rec Boat Holdings declined to comment on the discrepancy.
The company said the decision will result in the wind-down of all associated procurement and supply-chain activities. The move follows what the company described as consecutive years of significant financial losses in its powerboat segment.
“Despite the dedication and quality of service demonstrated by our vendor partners, the cumulative operating losses recorded in 2024 and 2025 are no longer sustainable,” Groupe Beneteau Americas/Rec Boat Holdings said in a notice of suspension of operations. “This decision was made after careful deliberation at the highest level of the organization.”
The notice said the company will honor all confirmed purchase orders issued before June 15 and will continue processing outstanding invoices for goods and services delivered before the termination date in accordance with existing payment terms. Suppliers are instructed to submit invoices by July 31 to ensure timely processing.
Groupe Beneteau said procurement contacts will begin coordinating wind-down activities with suppliers, including final delivery schedules and management of work-in-progress inventory.
