The next iteration of boot Düsseldorf, scheduled for Jan. 23-31, received good news from the German government that will allow for international visitors to attend the show.
The government said that trade fair participants would be seen as business travelers with good cause to enter Germany and would not be barred from entering the country.
Those attending boot Düsseldorf would have to follow the following protocol: exhibitors would have to submit a confirmation of participation from the trade fair organizer as proof, downloadable from the show’s online order system.
Show visitors, press and the like would be required to show an admission ticket to boot and also an appointment with at least one exhibitor.
In addition, people entering Germany from risk areas — defined here — must show a negative test for Covid-19 within 48 hours of entering the country.
“boot Düsseldorf 2021 is very well positioned. The manufacturers of boats and yachts have almost uniformly announced their participation…We will have all the major global players in the sailing and motor yacht sector as well as the superboat and luxury yacht area on board again,” said show director Petros Michelidakis in a statement.
Organizers view the show as a vital component to kick off the 2021 season after nearly all of the big European shows have been jettisoned by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The European shipyards are convinced of the great necessity of boat shows and have told us in many conversations that the boatbuilding industry would not survive without boat shows. They are the elixir of life of the entire water sports community,” said Michelidakis.
