The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference announced that Patty Lawrence has joined its team as education director.
Lawrence will plan preconference sessions, a seminar series and Tech Talk workshops hosted by exhibitors. She also will develop year-round sessions for IBEX 365, the show’s new platform for product updates, company news and education.
“The Education Program is an integral part of IBEX and a key component to a successful show,” show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “We are delighted to welcome Patty to the IBEX team and are confident that with the return to in-person events, this year’s program will deliver the quality education the industry has come to expect from us.”
Most recently, Lawrence managed education programs for the National Marine Manufacturers Association, Sail America and Informa. She served on the board of US Sailing, is past president of the Thistle Class Association and was an educator at Midlands Technical College.
“I am thrilled to join the IBEX team,” Lawrence said. “I’m a life-long sailor and teacher, and somehow lucked into educational programs for the marine industry. I’m delighted to combine the two things I am most passionate about.”
IBEX is scheduled for Sept. 28-30 at the Tampa Convention Center.
