The National Marine Trades Council held its annual conference July 22-25 in Stillwater, Minn. The meeting brings together industry leaders, association representatives and other stakeholders for a series of discussions, presentations and networking opportunities.

There were sessions on workforce development, industry advocacy efforts, and boat-show strategies and best practices, plus other roundtable discussions. Mercury and Yamaha made workforce presentations, Discover Boating covered industry marketing updates, and the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas looked at artificial intelligence.

“The NMTC’s most significant value is the opportunity it offers all of our industry’s state and national marine trades associations to come together and learn from one another,” Randall Lyons, chair of this year’s conference and executive director of the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association, said in a statement. “As association leaders, we play a unique role in supporting and fostering the growth of our industry and the thousands of businesses within it. This event allows us to share insights and ideas from across the industry, helping us all deliver better results for our industry.”

Lori Wheeler, vice president of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, will serve as chair of next year’s NMTC conference.

“We look forward to another year of collaboration, innovation and growth within the marine trades community,” Wheeler said. “All of us who participated this year extend our heartfelt gratitude to Randall Lyons for his leadership and dedication as the chair of this year’s conference.”

The NMTC, an informal group of marine trade associations, promotes and supports the marine trades through advocacy, education and collaboration.
