
The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference this morning announced its schedule of educational sessions that will run before and during the show, Sept. 26-29, at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.
Preconference sessions begin Sept. 26, the day before IBEX opens, and include certification opportunities, industry training, product demos and design sessions. Topics such as leadership skills, small craft electric propulsion, electrical installation and high-performance composites will be discussed.
The Seminar Series runs Sept. 28-30 and are offered in nine tracks:
• Construction Methods and Materials
• Design and Engineering
• Emerging Topics
• Management Policy
• Marina and Boatyard Operations
• Marine Electrical Systems
• Marine Onboard Systems
• Survey and Repair
The ninth track, new for 2022, is Electrification, which will be discussed in seven IBEX seminars, including Designing Boats for Electric Propulsion with Dave Gerr.
“IBEX’s Education Conference brings together the most relevant industry topics from our education partners to create an experience accessible to all industry professionals, at all levels, and at companies of all sizes,” show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “In four days, we can offer participants a wealth of information to enhance and inspire the innovators of tomorrow.”
A series of free workshops will be held in the Tech Talk Theater on the third floor of the exhibit hall Tuesday and Wednesday, including 13 one-hour Tech Talk Workshops highlighting new and innovative products. Topics include:
• Are You Building a “Lithium Ready” Boat?
• The Importance of Lightning Detection Safety in the Marine Industry
• Marine Stabilization
