The Van der Valk shipyard said it completed a new 82-foot Explorer semicustom trawler-style yacht designed by Guido de Groot.

The Explorer 25m is described as a go-anywhere vessel, and it features a round-bilge hull design and semidisplacement capabilities that the builder said ensure maximum fuel efficiency.

Van der Valk said the yacht has a 3,370-gallon fuel tank and is built from aluminum to keep the weight down. The twin Caterpillar C12 Acert 390-hp engines push the boat to a maximum speed of 12.8 knots, and the yard said the boat should have a long range at an 11-knot cruising speed.

The boat also can be built from steel and it has a Class A rating.

In the interior, the boat, which was built to spec and is for sale, can accommodate eight guests in four cabins, with crew quarters for four in the stern.

Highlights include a large flybridge and additional outdoor space forward of the wheelhouse on the main deck.
