Trident Yacht Basin, Rockland, Maine’s first designated Clean Marina, will receive its Clean Marina award and flag Tuesday morning during a ceremony.
The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. Invited guests include state and municipal officials, legislators and representatives from nearby boatyards and marinas.
The Maine Clean Boatyards & Marinas Program is a voluntary compliance program that helps boatyard and marina operators achieve and exceed compliance in five areas of concern, which include boat repair and maintenance; stormwater management; erosion and sedimentation control; fueling activities/petroleum control; waste recycling storage and disposal; and boat pumpouts and sewage.
The program is sponsored by the Maine Marine Trades Association with funding from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
