The MarineMax Naples Yacht Center in Florida said it will partner with the Collier County Salvation Army to “fill the boat” with donations in support of the charity’s holiday food drive and its Toys for Tots toy drive.

“We have designated a Boston Whaler Outrage to collect new, unwrapped toys in support of the Collier County Salvation Army’s annual toy collection for Toys for Tots,” MarineMax Naples general manager Jim Connor said in a statement. “We are encouraging our employees and customers to contribute to these worthy causes and ‘fill the boat’ this holiday season.”

MarineMax will collect toys and food at its waterfront yacht center next to Tin City through Dec. 12.

Customers who contribute a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more will receive 10 percent off a purchase in the MarineMax Naples parts and service departments or $500 off the purchase of a new boat from the yacht center.

On Dec. 10, MarineMax Naples will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosting holiday music, hamburgers and hot dogs as the MarineMax team tries to overflow the Outrage with donated toys for the Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots program.

Representatives of Boston Whaler and the Salvation Army will be on hand as they attempt to set a record for collected toys.

“The holiday season is a great time to show kids and families that you care. We’d also like to thank the Collier County Salvation Army for all that they do for those in need this time of year. They are the real heroes,” Connor said.

“We encourage everyone to stop by the MarineMax Naples Yacht Center and ‘fill the boat,’ knowing that it will benefit those who are less fortunate in our community.”
