MarineMax announced leadership promotions at two of its Florida locations.
Jody Mitchell was named general manager of MarineMax Jacksonville, and Cary Smart was promoted to director of motoryachts and general manager for the Pompano Yacht Center and Dania locations.
Mitchell joined MarineMax in 2022 after a 25-year career in automotive management.
“Jody’s leadership, performance and passion for the marine lifestyle make him an ideal fit to lead our Jacksonville store,” regional president and vice president Jay Rasmusson said in a statement.
Smart joined MarineMax six years ago and has held positions in Sarasota, Fla., and Wrightsville Beach, N.C., as well as area manager for the Carolinas and Georgia. In his new role, he will oversee market-share growth and operational excellence in the Pompano and Dania Beach markets.
“Cary’s calm and professional demeanor, along with his ability to foster teamwork and collaboration, has played a key role in our continued success,” regional president TJ Rose said in a separate statement.
