Portsmouth Boating Center, on the Intracoastal Waterway at Mile Marker Zero in Portsmouth, Va., completed a refit of its 70-ton BFM Marine Travelift.
The width of the lift was increased to 26 feet, giving the the marina the capability to haul power- and sailboats with beams up to 25 feet.
“The width of vessels has increased over the years, and the beam of many catamarans now exceeds 22 feet,” Portsmouth Boating Center owner Mike Davis said in a statement. “We are pleased to be able to accommodate the unique needs of these boaters.”
The expansion was done with Marine Travelift representative Shul-Mar Equipment, according to the company.
