Digital switching technology from Dometic Marine will now be standard equipment on all Sportsman Boats models over 25 feet.
The Summerville, S.C., based builder’s line of center consoles and inshore bay boats runs from 21 to 35 feet. Five models on the center console line will be the recipient of digital switching packages, with two bay boats — the 267 and 267OE — getting the full digital treatment.
“Digital switching is definitely the wave of the future,” said Sportsman Boats President Tommy Hancock in a statement. “Collaborating with innovative partners such as Dometic Marine helps us stay on the forefront of marine technology.”
According to Dometic Marine, a single multifunction display can be used to control lights, pumps, batteries, trim tabs, climate control, audio and more, resulting in a clean, uncluttered helm. It also interfaces with Dometic Marine’s Optimus EPS steering — technology acquired when Dometic purchased SeaStar Solutions — also standard equipment on models that will have digital switching.
“Having a customer like Sportsman Boats, with the forward-looking vision to strive for a connected boat to enhance the boater’s experience, is key in our desire to get more people into boating,” said Dometic Marine President Eric Fetchko.
