GOST announced a partnership with Viam to enhance GOST’s Specter Ai security platform with such capabilities as facial recognition, object detection and real-time vessel monitoring. The integration allows GOST systems to work with a wide range of IP and analog cameras.
“GOST has carved out a very specific security, video and geostationary tracking niche in the marine electronics industry over the last 20 years, and it’s important to not deviate while also improving upon our strengths,” president and CEO Brian Kane said in a statement. “This partnership with Viam allows us to use Specter Ai to tie in with many existing video and other peripherals on the boat’s network, be it our own cameras or most any other manufacturers’, to bring in facial recognition with permitted persons on board for a more seamless security experience of both vessel defense and normal activity aboard.”
The Specter Ai platform, powered by Viam’s infrastructure, allows users to remotely monitor on-board activity, receive alerts, track GPS location and access CAN bus system data — all from a central interface. The system is compatible with existing GOST XVRs and most IP camera systems using ONVIF/RTSP protocols or analog encoders.
