The American Boat & Yacht Council announced the recipients of this year’s Outstanding Technician Awards during International Marine Service Technician Week, which runs through Friday. The awards recognize 10 technicians who have demonstrated exceptional customer service, technical training and industry involvement, ABYC said in a statement.

“Congratulations to the 2025 Outstanding Technician recipients,” said Tim Murphy, ABYC education director. “These techs represent the best of the marine service industry, and we’re proud to recognize their contributions and impact.”

This year’s recipients:

• Mick Belfy, Irish Boat Shop, Harbor Springs, Mich.

• Adam Lass, Flux Marine, Bristol, R.I.

• Brian Lentell, Walstrom Marine, Cheboygan, Mich.

• Toby Merritt, Precision Boats, Idaho Falls, Idaho

• Carlos Roman, Bluff Creek Marina, Strawn, Texas

• Christian Schade, Flux Marine, Bristol, R.I.

• Jeremy “J.T.” Taylor, Slidell Marine, Slidell, La.

• Garrett Zell, Port Diesel, Wilmington, N.C.

Recipients of the New Achiever Award, which recognizes up-and-coming professionals, are Delaney Huffman of Boyne Boat Yard in Boyne City, Mich., and Taven Larrance of Big Thunder Marine in Lake Ozark, Miss.
