PHOTO COURTESY ABYCThe American Boat & Yacht Council last week announced the recipients of its annual Outstanding Technician Awards as part of International Marine Service Technician Week. The awards were presented to 10 technicians out of 130 nominees.
Now in its third year, International Marine Service Technician Week aims to highlight service professionals in customer service, technical training and industry involvement. This year’s winners received a $100 Visa gift card and a technician prize pack.
The winners are:

• Ryan Coffin, Yarmouth Boat Yard (Maine)
• Brian Ehlers, MarineMax Texas MasterCraft
• Sean Fabio, Gage Marine (Wis.)
• Thomas Huthmaker, Port Annapolis Marina (Maryland)
• Cliff Manlapaz, Diversified Marine Services (Maryland)
• Gregory Michael, Pinnacle Marine Group (Florida)
• Tim Murphy, Kingman Yacht Center (Massachusetts)
• Jason Ustaszewski, Cape Marine Survey (Florida)
• Brian Vandeyacht, Irish Boat Shop (Michigan)
A new category, New Achiever, recognized newcomers to the industry who demonstrate outstanding potential and skills. The award went to Jack Truett, Truett Marine Services (Maryland) and Alex Harlow, Harborside Marina (Connecticut).
