Active Interest Media announced that it is rebranding its Multihull Sailor magazine to include power catamaran coverage. Multihull Power & Sail will debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
“After listening to readers, attending recent boat shows and looking at the success of the current Multihull Sailor magazine, there was no denying that additional content on a variety of multihull boats was warranted,” AIM Marine Group president Gary DeSanctis said in a statement.
The company says Multihull Power & Sail will feature articles on the multihull lifestyle, the latest multihull models, cruising, outfitting a boat for cruising, charter cats and more.
“Our team from Multihull Sailor is excited to expand and welcome powerboaters into our readership community,” said Lydia Mullan, managing editor of Sail magazine. “We’re looking forward to continuing to offer the best coverage of the most cutting-edge boats out there, in partnership with the outstanding powerboating experts from our sister publications.”
“Owners of multihull sailboats and powerboats are often looked at as two entirely different types of boaters, but at the end of the day, we’re all looking for the same thing: escape,” said Daniel Harding Jr., editor-in-chief of Power & Motoryacht. “I’m excited to help create a product that will educate boaters on this growing market segment while inspiring readers to get out and spend more time on the water.”
