
Airmar Technology yesterday announced that it was acquired by Connecticut-based Amphenol Corp.. The company is now part of Amphenol’s Interconnect and Sensor Systems division and will retain its headquarters in Milford, N.H.
“Amphenol has a strong focus on innovation and growth, which matches Airmar’s culture. Being a part of the Amphenol family means Airmar and other Amphenol businesses will benefit from sharing technology and expertise,” Steve Boucher, general manager and founder of Airmar, said in a statement.
Airmar has developed and manufactured transducers for a range of applications, including industrial transducers, underwater scientific and survey transducers, weather sensing instruments, and an extensive line of marine transducers. The company consists of Airmar Technology, Marport, MSI Transducers and Gemeco.
“We are thrilled to have Airmar join Amphenol,” Peter Straub, president of Amphenol’s Interconnect and Sensor Systems division, said in the statement. “The Airmar leadership team, their technology and their leadership in the marine market are a great addition to our well-diversified sensor portfolio.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
