AkzoNobel yesterday announced that it appointed Simon Parker as the managing director of its Marine, Protective and Yacht Coatings business unit.
“I am delighted to lead such a prestigious division as Marine, Protective and Yacht Coatings,” Parker said in a statement. “As a key unit within AkzoNobel, our brands, including International and Awlgrip, are rightly renowned for stand-out quality and the solutions they provide to customers worldwide.”
According to the statement, Parker is a “keen sailor” and was most recently managing director of the company’s Powder Coatings and Vehicle Refinishes divisions.
“There is an amazing team in place already, and it will be my privilege to help them continue to drive innovation and change in our industry and to lead by example,” Parker added.
