Alva Yachts, a German builder of solar/electric catamarans and sailboats, named Peter Hamlyn chief operating officer. Hamlyn is former Oyster Yachts chief operating officer and was operations director at Fairline Yachts.
“We are extremely happy to welcome Peter to the Alva family,” CEO Holger Henn said in a statement. “His experience and knowledge in the industry are unmatched, and everyone on the team is excited to work with him.”
Alva’s first Ocean ECO 60 is expected to launch this fall, followed by the Ocean ECO 90 by the end of the year. The company is also building a 90-foot catamaran superyacht, the Ocean ECO 90 H2.
