PHOTO COURTESY AMIThe Association of Marina Industries Conference & Expo will include a panel discussion on the future of boatbuilding and engine manufacturing. The conference is scheduled for Jan. 30- Feb. 1 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Moderated by Katheryn Burchett, COO of Safe Harbor Marinas, the panel will feature Alexandra Cattelan, chief technology officer, Brunswick Corp.; Sean Marrero, chief strategy officer, Correct Craft, and president of Watershed Innovation; and Dan Ryks, product manager of advanced technology, Mercury Marine.
“It is extremely important that the marinas and boat and engine manufacturers have an open dialogue about what the future holds,” AMI chairman John Swick said in a statement. “Infrastructure changes require a significant amount of planning and lead time, so the earlier these conversations can be happening the better.”
Discussion topics include electrification and charging infrastructure; autonomous docking; close-quarters maneuvering and navigation; alternative fuels; safety and emergency response; connectivity, digital systems; and AI and IoT and their impact on customers and marinas.
