ARCO Marine, a supplier of engine and electrical system components, announced that Rob Bell will lead the development of the company’s high-output alternators.

Bell has 38 years of experience in the automotive and marine electrical industries. He was head of design and engineering at his previous company, and helped lead the development of 12- and 24-volt alternators for marine, industrial and RV applications.

“I have all the confidence in Rob Bell running ARCO’s high-output-alternator development program, ARCO CEO Ben Stoddard said in a statement. “I have met many people who qualify as alternator engineers and developers. Few of them have half as much working experience, knowledge of applications, and focus of areas to optimize stator, rotor, regulator and rectifier design as I have seen in Rob.”

ARCO has manufactured and supplied engine parts and alternators for 60 years, including the Zeus high-energy series.

“My immediate focus will be on developing 24v and 48v high-energy alternators within the same frame size as our large units,” Bell said. “The prioritization of 48v reflects the industry’s shift toward these systems, offering significant advantages over traditional 12v setups. They are safer, more efficient, cost-effective and represent a future-proof solution.”
