The American Sportfishing Association yesterday announced the dates of the inaugural Keep America Fishing Tournament, which will start Sept. 1 at 12 a.m. and end Sept. 30 at noon.
ASA said in a statement that its Keep America Fishing program gives anglers a “voice in legislation and policy decisions that impact their time on the water.” The tournament is a way to support the program.
Individual registration is $25, and entrants can compete in multiple salt- and freshwater categories, such as Team Bass, black bass, catfish (freshwater), redfish, speckled trout, striped bass, walleye and the Johnson Outdoors Clean Earth Challenge. Team registration is also available.
According to tournament organizers, first place winners in each category will receive a prize package presented by Johnson Outdoors. Anglers will also be eligible for the Yakima Baits second-place prize pack in each category, as well as third place prize packs.
Prize-pack contributors include St. Croix, Rapala, Anything Possible Brands, Lew’s, Strike King, Quantum, Zebco, FOX and HUK.
