The ninth BMW Asia Boating Awards 2013, organized by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating, was held March 29 at the Intercontinental Hotel Serenity Coast Resort in Sanya, China, and honored international builders at a gala dinner.

“The Asia Boating Awards are unique in that they bring together international and Asian yacht builders, as well as industry insiders and high-net-worth individuals from around the region in one gala ceremony at one time,” Asia-Pacific Boating magazine editor-in-chief Ryan Swift said in a statement.

Horizon Yachts and Kingship were acknowledged as Asia’s top yacht builders and the Best Asian Built Yacht award went to Gulf Craft’s Majesty 135, a first for the United Arab Emirates builder.

Best Custom Built Yacht went to Lürssen for Quatroelle and Best Semi Custom Built Yacht went to Benetti for the Classic Supreme 132 Petrus II. Best Production Motor Yacht 24 to 40 meters went to U.K.-based Princess Yachts for the 40-meter Imperial Princess.

Ferretti Yachts, Marquis, Azimut Yachts and the Beneteau Group also walked away with prizes.
