Boater’s World Marine Centers president Stewart Thompson stepped down Aug. 16 after six years. Under Thompson’s leadership, the retailer has grown and he is recognized for guiding the Boater’s World through an era of success.

“Stewart’s hard work and dedication over the past six years have helped BWMC grow to the level it is today,” Tom D’Azevedo, chairman of the Outdoor Network, said in a statement. “The Outdoor Network thanks Stewart for his passion and dedication and wishes him well in his next endeavor.”

Thompson said he will remain active in the boating industry.

“I appreciate the opportunity that Boater’s World has given me, and I am proud of the organization that we have built over the past six years,” he said.

Outdoor Network CEO Martin Polo was named interim Boater’s World president.
