Freedom Boat Club is teaming up with the Jacksonville School for Autism and Safe Harbor Boys Academy to host a “boatgate” with Capt. Sandy Yawn from Bravo TV’s Below Deck Mediterranean.
The proceeds will go directly to the Jacksonville School for Autism.
Freedom Boat Club in Jacksonville has become known for arriving to local sporting events by boat for pregame parties, so it has coined the term “boatgates.”
The club ships a fleet of boats, sometimes along with their 70-foot houseboat, to Jacksonville Jaguar games and the annual Florida/Georgia weekend to tailgate on the water, according to a statement.
This Sunday, Freedom Boat Club and the Jacksonville School for Autism are sponsoring an event to benefit the school aboard the 125-foot superyacht Amazing Grace, being donated for the event by Safe Harbor Boys Academy.
Prior to the Jaguars home game, attendees can meet Capt. Sandy Yawn — an advocate for autism awareness. Yawn’s nephew also attends the Jacksonville School for Autism.
The Boatgate will be held at Metropolitan Park Marina.
