BoatUS Foundation’s first Turning the Tide Online summit provided three days of education and resources to improve the marine industry’s management of waste and discarded materials. More than 200 attendees took part in the online event, held Feb. 25-27.
“Our three-day event amplified the best practices for responsible and sustainable disposal of boating-related waste streams,” BoatUS Foundation Director of Outreach Alanna Keating said in a statement. “This gathering of a wide range of experts and advocates will help shape the future of existing and emerging technologies.”
The summit was made possible through a partnership with NOAA’s Marine Debris Program. The funding also goes toward removing abandoned and derelict vessels and creating a first-of-its-kind national database to pinpoint locations of ADVs and track their removal.
