Chaparral Boats and Burger Boat Co. each were recently recognized with awards.
Chaparral, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marine Products Corp., won Boating magazine’s 2008 Boat of the Year award for its new 400 Premiere Sport Yacht.
“No boat has exceeded our standards for breaking new ground like the Chaparral 400,” said vice president and editor-in-chief Randy Steele. “The Wide-Tech Bow and use of exotic finish materials in the cabin’s interior design also sets this cruiser apart from the others.”
Boating’s Boat of the Year is chosen by the magazine’s tech team based on performance, innovation and value.
Custom motoryacht builder Burger placed first in Custom Woodworking Business magazine’s annual woodworking competition for the craftsmanship aboard Ingot, a custom 153-foot motoryacht. Burger received a perfect score, the highest given in the 20-year history of the competition.
