CMC marine last week announced that it is partnering with components manufacturer Dometic to combine its stabilizer technology with the Optimus steering system.
“We’re glad to integrate Dometic’s excellent steering with our fins and Argo control, allowing our common customers to get even more from the systems working together,” CMC president Alessandro Cappiello said in a statement. “Both companies have a strong focus on technology and comfort on board, hopefully this is just the beginning of a prolific partnership.”
CMC Marine tested the integration of its Stabilis Electra and Waveless STAB systems with Optimus steering at its development center in Pisa, Italy, and at a major OEM shipyard. The integration will allow synergy between stabilizer fins and rudders, improving comfort, maneuverability and safety at sea.
“This partnership demonstrates how two forward-thinking companies can work together for the benefit of vessel owners,” Dometic president Eric Fetchko said in the statement. “We are experts in precision steering technology for a wide range of vessels. CMC Marine is a world leader in electric fin stabilization systems. By combining our engineering and manufacturing expertise, we can enhance vessel ride and handling for yacht owners worldwide.”
