Cox Marine said U.S.-based distribution and dealer partners installed the first triple configuration of the CXO300 diesel outboard for a Canadian customer.

The engines power an Adventure 44 from Canadian builder Tactical Custom Boats, Cox Marine said in a statement yesterday.

California-based distributor Boatswain’s Locker and dealer Milltown Marine Services collaborated on the order, Cox said.

“Cox diesel outboards allow us to fully realize the potential of our vessels’ design,” said Tim Charles, principal at Tactical Custom Boats. “It’s not about comparing or replacing traditional gasoline outboards with diesel. It’s about replacing high-torque diesel inboard engines with new, high-torque diesel outboards.”

Tactical Custom Boats is part of Vancouver, British Columbia-based Platinum Marine Group.
