CTS Custom Trailers of Muscatine, Iowa, makes boat trailers for companies including Marine Technologies Inc., Wright Performance, Fountain, Concept and Nor-Tech. The company has hired two former employees of Myco Trailers. Jon Smiley will assume the vice president of sales role, and Ronnie Moran will take up the director of operations position.
“We knew that in order to ensure CTS’ success, we needed the best of the best in the industry on our team,” Jason Curry, CTS Custom Trailers owner, said in a statement. “I’ve known of Jon and Ronnie over the years as a trailer customer myself and knew they’d be the best fit to carry CTS to the next level.”
Smiley brings more than 24 years of marine industry experience. He began his career in the watersports rental business before taking on marina management roles. Then he joined Myco trailers, which is one of the best-known names in the custom-boat-trailer segment.
Moran also brings close to two decades of experience in the custom-trailer market. The former vice president of sales at MYCO will work alongside CTS’ general manager Lakin Curry-Thoren.
