Flow-Rite, a manufacturer of injection-molded fluid-control components for the marine industry and beyond is celebrating 40 years in business.

The Byron Center, Mich.-based company was founded in 1981 as Flow-Rite Controls, first developing battery watering systems and then branching out to boat ballast and livewell plumbing products, registering hundreds of patents along the way.

“We’ve accomplished so much in 40 years, but that which we’re most proud of is the culture Dan Campau established,” said president Todd Hart in a statement. “Because of the values he instilled into the company, we enjoy what we do as we support our community and solve our customers’ challenges.”

The company received the “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in West Michigan” award for four consecutive years.

During the height of the pandemic, the company reconfigured the spacing of workstations, added temperature screenings and prework health surveys, and limited the capacity of office personnel.

“While we’ve all been individually tested by the pandemic, the Flow-Rite family came together to support one another,” said Hart. “Throughout, we’ve remained strong and cohesive. I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished this year and all the successes we’ve realized.”
