The Fort Myers Boat Show opened yesterday and runs through Sunday at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center and surrounding area.

The show was originally scheduled for November but was postponed in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. There are no in-water displays, as City Yacht Basin suffered extensive damage and remains closed, the show producer, Southwest Florida Marine Industry Association, said in a statement. Several exhibitors that planned to have boats in the water are displaying on land, and others with larger boats have booths in the convention center.

SWFMIA said the adjacent Luminary Hotel had minor damage, and that Centennial Park and streets along the waterfront are in good shape. Completion of an amphitheater has provided additional exhibit space.

SWFMIA said exhibit space for the event is nearly full and that marine businesses in the area have been supportive. More than 500 boats from 130-plus manufacturers will be on display. Exhibits are set up along the Caloosahatchee River and through Centennial Park to the convention center and Edwards Drive.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
