Albert P. Waskiewicz Jr., the founder of Philadelphia Boat Supply, died Aug. 23 at the age of 63.
A Bridesburg, Pa., native, Waskiewicz was a gold card member of the Bridesburg Outboard Club and held many titles with the organization while serving on the board of directors. He was also president of the Pennsylvania Boating Association.
“Big Al and his wife, Carol, took on a business adventure in 1989, opening Philadelphia Boat Supply,” the family said in a statement. “Being avid boaters themselves, they were your go-to people for all your boating needs. Boaters up and down the river would stop in, not only for parts, but for conversations with Big Al.”
